NRA Basic Pistol
This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to safely handle a handgun.

March 8, 2023This was a great course. I'm pretty new to handguns and wanted to get more comfortable handling and shooting a handgun. I learned so much from this class and feel confident enough to come back and rent some pistols & a lane and figure out what's the best fit for me. I see it says that we'd cover bench rest shooting under drills but this didn't happen. Maybe we didn't have the time for it as we were running a little behind. I still give it 5 stars!

7 Nov, 2022I can't recommend this class enough if you are new to the handgun world &/or are thinking about buying your first handgun. Learned the ins & outs of everything about handguns, how they work, what different terms mean, loading, etc. Then in the afternoon we got to try our new knowledge out on the shooting range. The instructor was excellent - very knowledgeable and very patient answering questions and making sure you understood everything and were doing it the right way. Thank you for such a great experience!

02 Jul, 2018I took the NRA basic pistol course and I appreciate hthe instructor's knowledge and encouragement so much! I started out the day nervous because I wasn't familiar with the terms or the names of guns but the instructor and the other ladies in my class never made me feel stupid. I felt empowered and am taking the Intro to Pistol shooting class in a couple weeks. Ladies, if you are reading this and are curious about shooting/guns/personal protection, TAKE A CLASS!!! The guys that work there too are also very helpful and happy to answer your questions.

22 March, 2021I just finished the Basic Pistol class with Bill as my instructor. I have never even held a gun before. He was very patient with me which I really appreciated. He is also very articulate and entertaining while he is teaching, yet thorough. I hope to take more classes.

17 Sep, 2021Great start for my new pistol. I have rifles and shotguns but never used a handgun before the course. Pistols are different and I learned a lot. The instructor made everyone comfortable, no matter what their experience. The safety training was great.

21 Sep, 2021The coures director really connected with my wife,son and myself. We learned a great deal in a short period of time and appreciated the seriousness of the safety aspect of the instructional part and the range part of the course. We went from being very poor shots to adequate shots in just a few minutes of range time using what we learned along with some live Hands-On advice. My son and I went back and practiced some more on another day and vastly improved using what we knew and reading the NRA handbook provided through this course when we were making errors shooting. The book gave good advice on how to correct poor technique. Great course and facility.

24 Sep, 2021My husband and I along with 2 female friends of mine, really enjoyed this class. I was Army trained so this was a refresher course for me. My 2 female friends had never shot a weapon before. I was very impressed with how patient our instructor was with the girls. They came out of this class wanting to put more brass downrange. GREAT COURSE!
